Carlos Condit looks ahead to Alves fight
Ultimate Fighting Championship or UFC Welterweight Carlos Condit is feeling good about himself once again. Having suffered a horrific knee injury in his bout against Tyron Woodley at UFC 171 more than a year ago, the American has now said that he feels back to one hundred per cent and is primed to take on Brazilian fighter Thiago Alves in what promises to be a slugfest.
Condit recently travelled to Brazil to promote the card set for May 30 which both of them are headlining and he said that he feels really good. He mentioned that it was unfortunate that he blew his knee but now he is feeling back to his best – both mentally and physically.
According to Carlos Condit, he is back and it is all a part of the game adding that he is just trying to get the strength back to his leg with the ACL. He mentioned that he also working on his overall development as a Mixed Martial Artist. He firmly believes that this injury has been a blessing in disguise for him and that he will come back stronger.
A former interim UFC Welterweight champion, Condit knows the importance of the match against Alves. He said that a win against the Brazilian will take him a long way along the path to getting a shot at the title but he doesn’t want to look beyond Pitbull just now.
Condit said that it is important for him to get back in there, get back on track and start making his way towards the title and at the moment, he doesn’t see Thiago Alves as anything more than an obstacle in that path.
Carlos Condit has said that while Alves is a great Mixed Martial Artist, he is also preparing a strategy to beat him.
